PTFA Update

PTFA

Dear parents, teachers, and friends,

We hope you have all had a lovely Easter holidays and are looking forward to the coming summer term!

We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone for your amazing support for the Easter Fundraiser, from the ideas to the scrumptious donations, the helpers and the pupils who ran the stall and for all the purchases on the day.  It was lovely to be able to run a bake sale again after so long and we raised a total of £200, half of which is being sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee to support people dealing with conflict: https://www.dec.org.uk/

We would now like to take the opportunity to get some feedback and ideas from the Parents, Teachers and Friends of St Wilfrid’s about how to best spend PTFA funds to give most benefit to the pupils and the school.  Please can you share your ideas to the PTFA or to the school and we will collate these and seek consensus/priority to help direct our efforts through 2022 and beyond.

Our next PTFA meeting will take place 3.45pm to 4.30pm, Monday 9th May in the English room and we hope to see you there.  Zoom log in details will be sent out by email for those who would like to join the meeting from home.

PTFA Coffee and Chat – the next meet up is 3pm on Thursday 21st April at the Mulberry Tree Café, St David’s Hill, very close to the school.  Please do come along if you’d like to join us for a friendly coffee and chat about PTFA activities and to share any ideas you may have.

Summer Fayre

Our next big fundraiser will be our first Summer Fayre for some years!  The provisional date for this is 1pm on Thursday 30th June which will be confirmed nearer the time.  We are looking for your ideas and support for a variety of activities and stalls please and will share more information as this comes together!

Used Uniform

Reselling outgrown uniform continues to raise useful funds for the PTFA so please do bring in anything that still has some wear left in it to Jane at reception. If you have outgrown football boots that are still in good condition, we will happily accept these as well and will even clean the mud off before reselling! Bagged or boxed though please!

Bags2school https://bag2school.com/what-we-collect

There will be a collection on Thursday 9th June so please could you continue to put suitable items into a bin liner ready for when drop off dates are announced.

Easyfundraising  https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/stwilfredptfaexe/?utm_campaign=raise-more&utm_content=s-e3

“St Wilfrid’s School PTFA – Exeter” is registered with easyfundraising, which allows us to raise funds while you shop at over 5000 retailers like John Lewis, Amazon and eBay, who will then make a percentage donation to our PTFA at no extra cost to you. It is relatively simple to sign up but the PTFA are happy to help you with this as purchases can quickly add up to very useful funds for the school!

Cash4coins https://www.cash4coins.co.uk/

Please bring to reception any pre-Euro coins and notes, foreign coins regardless of age and condition and pre-decimal old British and Irish coins.

If you have any spare time or energy to help with the PTFA going forward, even an idea or two for us to run with, please do get in touch as many hands make light work!

Thank you again for all your support and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas about our PTFA aims for the future.

With warm regards,

The PTFA Team
