The Jane de Bruyn Cup

Held in the honour of our former PE teacher and friend Jane de Bruyn.

Seven schools gathered on a glorious day at Exeter University to participate in a five a-side football tournament.

Pool A was dominated by St John’s and Stover. St John’s just scraped through to the final on goals scored. St Wilfrid’s ‘B’ team came fourth in the pool and Bramdean third.

Pool B was very evenly matched. Emmanuel came third and St Wilfrid’ s ‘A’ and Trinity were level on points, goals scored and goal difference! A penalty shootout was hastily arranged to determine the winner. Trinity won to take their place in the final against St John’s.

St John’s were excellent in the final and overwhelmed Trinity 4-0 to become the first holders of the Jane de Bruyn Cup.

Well done to all that took part. It was a fitting way to remember an excellent and much missed person.
