Year 9 Food Hygiene Certificate – Autumn 2011


We are delighted to report that year 9 pupils in Home Economics all passed the level 2 food safety in catering certificate, validated by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH)!

Pupils followed an eight hour course in the nine areas of food hygiene.  The main purpose of taking the examination is to prevent food poisoning.  The certificate is nationally recognised and will help pupils to gain employment in cafes, pubs, restaurants etc., if they wish.

Mrs Mackey, a fellow of the RSPH, was very pleased that all pupils passed the exam, and urged pupils to follow the rules they learnt on the course at home to keep their families safe from food poisoning.
