The David James Cup

Monday 12th March 2012 at Stover School

St Wilfrid’s School Under 13 football team were lucky enough to be invited to the inaugural David James Cup. There the U13’s competed in a round robin tournament against Stover School A and B teams, Trinity and Shapwick School A and B teams.

The results were mixed, losing to both Shapwick teams and Stover A. Drawing with Trinity and Stover B.

The St Wilfrid’s team gave their usual maximum effort and were rewarded by meeting ex England international goalkeeper David James, who kindly had a photo taken with the team and signed numerous autographs. A great example of how a high profile sportsman should act.

A fantastic day was had by all and can I thank Stover for hosting the tournament.

St Wilfrid’s 0 – 1 Shapwick A

St Wilfrid’s 0 – 5 Stover A

St Wilfrid’s 1 – 2 Shapwick B

St Wilfrid’s 0 – 0 Trinity

St Wilfrid’s 0 – 0 Stover B
