Key Stage 3 Art trip to the RAMM

photo

Key Stage 3 visited the RAMM to view an exhibition of prizewinning portrait paintings by contemporary artists.

Pupils have been painting portraits in art lessons this term.

Some of the portraits looked like photographs, as they were so detailed. Others were abstract. One was made with a mirror so when we looked into it, we became the subject of the portrait!
Everyone chose a favourite and explained what they liked about it. We also discussed the media the artists had used. some were oil paint, some were acrylic paint and two paintings had been made with colours that were mixed with egg!
