GCSE Art Trip 2011

Year 10 and 11 Art students enjoyed a full day of appreciating art in
London just before half term. They visited the National Gallery and made quick
sketches as they toured the rooms of early 13th century  through to
20th century art. Then a scenic bus ride took them to St Paul’s
Cathedral, followed by a walk across the Millenium Bridge which gave
them a terrific panorama of the city and the latest skyscraper  to be
built, ‘The Shard’. The afternoon was spent viewing modern art  and
carrying out reasearch in the Tate Modern. Another stroll took them to
Wagamamas for supper and a sit down! It was an enjoyable excursion and
all thought it was a very useful and inspirational trip.
