Minibeast Safari

During the summer term the Eagles were learning about animals and their habitats.  In particular they looked at MINI-BEASTS.  So with the help of the Hawks they set off on a mini-beast safari down at Bartholomew Cemetery (which is just down the road) to see what marvellous creatures they could find.

A fallen down log proved an ideal place to search.  The log was home to ants, woodlice, centipedes, earwigs and spiders.

A mass bug hunt was started to find Miss Norton’s favourite mini-beast. THE CATERPILLAR! Eventually one was found by two expert trackers.

After some great finds everyone gathered together to share and compare their creatures.

Eventually the tired explorers found their way back to school where they added their new specimens to the specially made habitat.
